This Privacy Policy explains how Double Bagel LLC ("Double Bagel," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use our service. By using Double Bagel, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. About Our Service
Double Bagel is a marketplace that connects tennis players with independent coaches who provide real-world coaching services — specifically, expert video analysis and personalized feedback on a player's game. Coaches are independent professionals, not employees of Double Bagel, and they provide human coaching services using video as the delivery format.
Geographic scope
The Service is currently offered to players who are residents of the United States. The Service is currently offered to coaches who are residents of the United States or Switzerland. Users in other jurisdictions are not currently permitted to use the Service. We may expand availability to additional jurisdictions in the future.
2. Categories of Information
Information you provide directly
When you create an account or use Double Bagel, you provide us with information including:
- Account information: name, email address, password, and authentication provider details
- Profile information: playing level, profile photo, bio, tennis credentials (for coaches), and any other information you add to your profile
- Content you upload: video footage of your tennis play, video lessons, written messages, reviews, and ratings
- Communications: messages you exchange with other users and with Double Bagel support
- Payment information: collected and processed by Stripe; Double Bagel does not store full payment card information
Information from minors
For users under 18, we collect information consistent with our Terms of Service and parental consent requirements. For users under 13, accounts must be created and maintained by a parent or legal guardian who provides all required information on the child's behalf.
Information collected automatically
When you use Double Bagel, we automatically collect certain information including:
- Device information: device type, operating system, browser type, and device identifiers
- Usage information: features you use, lessons you book, content you view, and how you interact with the platform
- Log information: IP address, access times, pages viewed, and referring URLs
- Cookies and similar technologies: as described in our Cookie Policy below
Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from third parties including:
- Authentication providers (Google, Apple) when you sign up using their services
- Stripe, our payment processor, regarding transactions
- Analytics providers regarding aggregate usage patterns
3. Purposes of Data Use
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Double Bagel service
- Connect players with coaches and facilitate lessons
- Process payments and payouts
- Communicate with you about your account, lessons, and platform updates
- Provide customer support
- Improve our service and develop new features
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect the rights and safety of our users and Double Bagel
4. Service Providers and Third Parties
Between users
Certain information is shared between users as part of the service:
- Players' uploaded video content is shared with the coach they have booked
- Coaches' lesson responses are shared with the player who booked the lesson
- Profile information visible on coach profiles is shared with players browsing the platform
- Reviews and ratings are publicly visible
With service providers
We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate Double Bagel, including:
- Stripe for payment processing
- Cloud hosting providers for data storage and platform infrastructure
- Email and notification services
- PostHog Inc. — product analytics service that captures page views, clicks, form interactions, and other user-interface events to help us understand how the platform is used and improve features. PostHog operates as a service provider under a signed Data Processing Agreement.
- Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — error monitoring and crash reporting service that captures application errors, stack traces, and limited environmental data (browser, URL, user ID) to help us diagnose and fix bugs. Sentry operates as a service provider.
- Customer support tools
Service providers are contractually required to use information only as necessary to provide their services.
For legal reasons
We may share information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests
- Enforce our Terms of Service or Coach Terms of Service
- Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues
- Protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of Double Bagel, our users, or the public
In business transactions
If Double Bagel is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With your consent
We may share information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction.
5. Coach Profile Content
Coaches on Double Bagel may publish content on their profile to help players learn about their coaching and decide whether to book lessons. This content may include bio information, intro videos, sample analyses, instructional clips, and other promotional material created by the coach. Coaches retain ownership of the content they upload to their profile. Coaches are responsible for ensuring they have the right to publish any content they upload, including obtaining consent from anyone featured in that content.
Profile content is visible to all users of Double Bagel, including players browsing the Discover page and users who have not yet created an account where the profile is publicly accessible. Coaches can remove or update their profile content at any time through their account settings.
6. Promotional Use of Lesson Content
From time to time, Double Bagel may want to feature lesson content publicly — for example, sharing a clip on social media, highlighting a coach's work on their profile, or showcasing past lessons to attract new players. We will never use lesson content publicly without first obtaining the explicit consent of the parties involved (the coach who created the lesson and, where applicable, the player who appears in the footage). You may decline any such request without affecting your account or service.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Account access and updates
You may access, update, or correct most account information through your account settings. You may close your account at any time.
Content deletion
You may delete content you have uploaded through the platform. Some content may persist:
- Coach lesson responses delivered to you remain available to you and the coach
- Reviews and ratings you have left may remain visible to other users
- Information needed for legal, regulatory, or fraud prevention may be retained as required by law
California residents
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to limit use of sensitive personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Double Bagel does not sell personal information. California residents who wish to opt out of analytics tracking may do so by contacting us at hello@doublebagelapp.com. We will honor opt-out requests within 15 business days.

Other state residents
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws have rights similar to those described above for California residents, including the right to access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing of their personal information. Swiss residents (revFADP)
Coaches who reside in Switzerland have rights under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP), including the right to information about how their data is processed, the right of access to their personal data, the right to rectification of inaccurate data, the right to erasure (deletion) of personal data, the right to object to processing, and the right to data portability.

International transfers: Swiss residents' personal data is transferred to and processed in the United States. Google LLC (operator of Firebase, our data processor) is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF). We rely on this certification, supplemented by Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable, as the legal basis for transfer.

Marketing communications
You may opt out of marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in our emails or by contacting us. You will continue to receive transactional and account-related communications even if you opt out of marketing.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and as described below:
- Account information: while your account is active, plus 90 days after account deletion
- Payment and transaction records: 7 years (as required by U.S. tax law)
- Video content (uploaded lessons, coach feedback): while your subscription is active, plus 90 days after cancellation
- Coach-player communications: 2 years from the date of last message
- Anonymized analytics: indefinitely
- DMCA notices, takedown records, and fraud or abuse records: 7 years
We may retain information longer than these periods as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce our agreements, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.
9. Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
10. Cookies and Tracking
Double Bagel uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the service, remember your preferences, understand how you use the platform, and improve our service. Categories of cookies we use include:
- Essential cookies: required for the platform to function (login, security, etc.)
- Functional cookies: remember your preferences and settings
- Analytics cookies: PostHog session and identification cookies are used to record individual user interactions (page views, clicks, form events) for product analytics. Data is processed by PostHog Inc. under a Data Processing Agreement. This data is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the platform may not function correctly if you disable certain cookies.
11. Children's Privacy
Double Bagel is a general-audience service intended for adults and minors aged 13 and older. The Service is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Children under 13 may participate in the Service only when a parent or legal guardian adds them as a youth player profile under the parent's own adult account. In that case, the parent is providing the information about their child as part of the parent's own use of the Service, and the parent is the contracting party with respect to that youth player profile.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child under 13 has created an account directly without your involvement, please contact us at support@doublebagelapp.com and we will delete the account and associated information.
Users aged 13 to 17 may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, as described in our Terms of Service.
12. International Users
Double Bagel currently operates in the United States and processes information primarily within the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
Double Bagel may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the platform. Your continued use of the service after the effective date of an updated Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
